The Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Yojana implemented by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, aimed to distribute free mobile phones to women in the state. However, due to the interruption caused by the state assembly elections, the scheme had to be put on hold. Both the ruling and opposition parties declared their intent to resume the Free Mobile Scheme to educate women about the country and the world, as well as to facilitate access to information about government schemes from the comfort of their homes.

Free Smartphone Yojana Eligibility
- Women and girls of the state are eligible under the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Yojana.
- Female heads of families receiving pensions or having completed 100 days of work under the NREGA scheme.
- Women who have completed 50 days of work under the Urban Employment Scheme or those receiving widow or old-age pensions.
- The scheme was initially aimed at female heads of families, and in the first phase, free mobile phones were distributed.
- Girls studying in government schools or pursuing degrees in government colleges are also eligible for the Free Mobile Scheme.
